Join Zionsville Parks & Recreation and Wild Birds Unlimited Carmel for an evening walk to search for one of nature’s most amazing courtship displays. In early spring evenings, the male American Woodcock can sometimes be seen doing its unique spiral ascent into the air, followed by a zig-zag flight pattern as he descends. If you are in the right place at the right time, you can see many male woodcocks doing this “sky dance”, as Aldo Leopold called it, to attract females.
