Join a Naturalist for a hands on introduction to one of nature’s most familiar small creatures, the roly poly. Participants will search for these isopods, observe them up close, and learn what makes them unique, including how they move, what they eat, and how they protect themselves by rolling into a ball.
Each participant will create a simple habitat and learn how to care for their own roly polies to take home. All materials are provided, including a small habitat, starter food, hiding places, and more! This program is a fun way for kids to connect with nature while practicing care and curiosity for a living creature.
