PEEPs: Preschool Environmental Education Program Series Let curiosity lead the way! PEEPs is a playful, hands-on nature program for preschoolers and their caregivers. Each week, we encourage exploration through outdoor adventures, sensory play, and discovery-based learning. Together, we’ll follow the seasons, explore local wildlife, and support early development through movement, creativity, and connection with nature. Register monthly to join a themed 3-week series. Come ready to play, explore, and get a little messy!Younger siblings are welcome to attend, but activities will be geared towards ages 3 – 6. Volunteers will be planting native species plugs along areas of Eagle Creek in Elm Street Green and Lions Park where recent invasive management has taken place.
Volunteers should come dressed for the weather and will be working near the waterline.

Town Showdown is a friendly competition between Whitestown and Zionsville to showcase their community spirit for a chance for their town to win the Big-4 Rail Trail Golden Bike Wheel.
Help Zionsville bring home the GOLD in 2026 by showing up and wearing your green!
Food Trucks: Grab a bite to eat for lunch or a snack at one of the participating food trucks before you ride back home. Activities: Enjoy music and activities at Mulberry Fields Park.Team Challenge: Dress in your Zionsville green apparel and show your Town spirit. There will be a count at 1 pm to determine which Town brought the most participants to win the coveted Golden Bike Wheel.Community Ride: Meet Zionsville Parks and Recreation at Zionsville Town Hall, 1100 W Oak Street at Noon for a Family Fun Ride to Mulberry Fields Park. The ride promotes cycling as a healthy and sustainable mode of transportation.

Through a partnership with the Boone County Invasive Cooperative and Boone County Soil & Water Conservation District, eligible Boone County residents can receive FREE native trees and shrubs in replacement for invasive species you remove from your yard. The application deadline is September 19th.
Just follow these steps:
1) Take a picture of the invasive plant
2) Take a picture after you remove it. If you can, apply a stump killer with active ingredients like triclopyr or glyphosate to prevent regrowth

Weed Wrangle - Weed Wrangle
Help Zionsville Parks remove invasive species from our natural areas! Weed Wrangle is a one-day volunteer effort to help rescue our public parks and green spaces from non-native invasive species through hands-on removal of especially harmful plants. Supervised by an expert in invasive weed management, volunteers learn, practice and begin a habit of maintaining an area free of non-native invasive plants that can then be replanted with natives. By engaging our neighbors and challenging them to take action in their own spaces, we hope to create a positive movement in our parks and neighboring areas. Check back as dates will be added throughout the year.

Something strange is happening in the forest. Mysterious creatures, peculiar potions, hidden messages, and a touch of magic are waiting among the trees. Venture into the woods with your family and work together to solve puzzles, complete challenges, and uncover the secrets of the enchanted forest before time runs out! This family-friendly program is best suited for ages 6 and up. Younger siblings are welcome to join the fun with help from family members. Please register one adult per team or family.
