Summer is a great time to explore aquatic ecosystems! Spend the morning getting your feet wet and muddy in the wetlands and creek of Zion Nature Sanctuary! We will look for fish, crayfish, amphibians, aquatic insects, and more. Wear boots or shoes that can get muddy. No bare feet or slip on shoes like flip flops or slides. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Toddler Treks are a perfect way to introduce our youngest audience to nature! Each month toddlers and their caregivers will meet at a different park to explore a theme through play, hands-on activities, and outdoor experiences. Older siblings are welcome to attend, but activities are geared towards 4 and under. Dress for the weather and be prepared to get moving!Zionsville Parks and Recreation's Youth Nature Education Programs are made possible by the generous support of the Zionsville Parks Foundation.

Did you know nature is full of mess makers? From slimy slugs and sticky spider webs, the outdoors is full of messy, sensory-filled fun! Join us for a hands-on program where we’ll learn about some of nature’s messiest creatures. Then we’ll mix, scoop, pour, and explore different textures inspired by the natural world. Dress for the mess!
