6:00 PM - 7:00 PM    100 Hours Outside! - 100 Hours Outside Kickoff
You track your reading, eating, sleeping and even screen time...but when was the last time you tracked your PLAY time?We are challenging Zionsville residents to log 100 hours outside this summer between May 1 - August 31. We will make it easy and FUN, sharing activity idea and events designed to help you log the hours. Submit your hours beginning May 1 and be entered into monthly drawings. Work towards the grand prize at the end of summer!Everyone wins a summer full of amazing memories!How it Works!What: Log 100 hours outside for a chance to win prizes!Who: Zionsville residents can register for free. Others can register for a small fee. You can participate from anywhere but must be local to claim prizes.How: Log any time spent outside (swimming, going on a walk, catching bugs, etc) Download a list of ideas from our website (coming soon!), watch our social media or attend a park program or event.When: May 1 - August 31, be sure to fill out your hour form and we'll keep track for youPrizes: Monthly prize drawings, grand prize awarded for top earners! Exclusive prizes can be earned at various park programs and events.

Spending time outdoors has numerous benefits for a child’s physical and emotional well-being. During our Toddler Treks we will meet at different Zionsville parks to play, explore, and watch the seasons change. Older siblings are welcome to attend, but activities will be geared towards ages 3 and under. Dress for the weather and be prepared to get moving! Starting in March, Toddler Trek will be for ages 3 years and under. For children ages 4 - 6 check out our new PEEPs program.

5:00 PM - 8:00 PM    Indiana Master Naturalist - Indiana Master Naturalist 2024
The Indiana Master Naturalist (IMN) program provides hands-on opportunities to learn about Indiana’s natural resources. Adult learners will gain an understanding of Indiana's plants, waters, soils, wildlife, and other topics. The program provides a way for you to share knowledge, along with your life experiences, through volunteer services. The program includes 24 hours of class time. To receive IMN certificate and pin, 24 hours of volunteering must be completed within one year of taking the class. Volunteer opportunities will be available during the course. This program meets every other Thursday February 15 - May 23 80% of the class hours must be attended to receive credit.

Nature Journaling is collecting and organizing your observations, questions, connections, and explanations on the pages of a notebook using words and pictures. You don’t need to be an artist, or a Naturalist to begin or any special supplies other than a notebook and a pencil or pen. Join Director of Recreation Services, Mindy Murdock, each month as we focus on a new topic while developing our curiosity, and observation skills together. A recommended materials list will be sent out before the start of each class.

Welcome to our new preschool environmental education program series (PEEPs)! This monthly program offers an opportunity for preschool-aged kids to discover nature through hands-on, educational activities. PEEPs will encourage outdoor exploration that supports child development, grows independence and confidence, and helps children build a relationship with the natural world. Younger siblings are welcome to attend, but activities will be geared towards ages 4 – 6.  Parents/Adults are required to stay

Each of our Art in Nature programs start off with an easy hike with a Naturalist to explore one of our parks and to collect materials. Afterwards, create your own masterpiece with different mediums such as leaves, mud, pine cones, and so much more! Our craft supplies will help finish off your artwork.
